Škoda is charging ahead in the EV market with the unveiling of the Elroq RS, its first-ever all-electric SUV bearing the iconic RS performance badge. This compact SUV builds on the success of the Enyaq while pushing the envelope further with a sporty design, twin-motor AWD setup, and advanced electric architecture.
The Elroq RS will be Škoda’s flagship in the compact electric SUV class, competing directly with rivals like the VW ID.4 GTX and Kia EV6 GT, but offering distinct Czech design and everyday practicality.
Striking RS Design Cues
Sporting a bold new evolution of Škoda’s design language, the Elroq RS features a closed-off grille, Matrix LED headlights, and RS-specific gloss black styling elements. The bumpers are more aggressive than the standard Elroq, while large aerodynamic wheels and low-profile tires complete the performance look.
Signature RS touches like red brake calipers, a sporty rear diffuser, and RS badging on the fenders and tailgate distinguish this SUV as a high-performance variant.
Powerful Electric Drivetrain
Under the hood — or rather, under the floor — the Elroq RS is expected to feature dual electric motors that provide all-wheel drive and up to 300 hp. This puts it in the same performance class as the Enyaq RS iV but in a more compact, agile form.
Early estimates suggest a 0–100 km/h time of under 6.5 seconds, with a top speed of around 180 km/h. Equipped with a large lithium-ion battery (likely around 82 kWh usable), the Elroq RS could achieve a range of 480–520 km (WLTP) and support ultra-fast charging at up to 175 kW.
Smart Interior With RS Flare
Inside, the Elroq RS combines sport and comfort with RS-branded sport seats, contrast stitching, and carbon-style trim. The infotainment system will run on the latest MIB3 software, displayed on a large 13-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
A 5.3-inch digital cockpit, ambient lighting, a head-up display with augmented reality, and advanced voice controls make this SUV feel as smart as it is sporty.
Built on the MEB Platform
Like other VW Group electric vehicles, the Elroq RS rides on the modular MEB platform. This means optimal weight distribution, a low center of gravity, and scalable battery and motor options – all tuned for the RS’s more dynamic character.
The Elroq’s compact footprint makes it ideal for urban driving, but with the performance to thrill on open roads. It is also expected to offer high-tech assistance features such as Travel Assist, adaptive cruise control, and automated lane-keeping.
Sustainability Meets Sportiness
Škoda is pushing for more sustainable materials in the Elroq RS interior, including vegan leather alternatives, recycled plastics, and eco-friendly production processes. This is a car for the future-minded driver – one who doesn’t want to compromise between performance and responsibility.
