Plugging that metric into Season 2’s first 10 days of viewership, 310 million hours divided by the show’s runtime gets you 41.8 million views. The first 11 days of Season 3, meanwhile, saw 29 million viewers tuning in to catch up with Henry Cavill and company, representing a 30% drop. Post-apocalyptic Tv series such a Silo and Foundation season 2 looks more attractive to viewers. The other significant reason why viewership has gone down for The Witcher season 3 is because of Henry Cavill’s exit. Cavill plays Geralt, and judging by fan reactions, plays him very well. However, in October 2022, Cavill announced that he would be exiting The Witcher cast after season 3. It was later decided that Liam Hemsworth would take his place as Geralt in seasons 4 and 5. Immediately, this decision didn’t sit well with fans of the show and the change is palpable. Although Cavill still appears as Geralt in The Witcher season 3, viewership has already plummeted.
